NYFW SS'23 - Monse

On the first days of NYFW, there was a show of the Monse brand. This brand is the brainchild of two designers, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia. Fernando and Laura started their joint fashion journey in the House of Oscar de la Renta, under the guidance of the maestro himself, and in 2015 they decided to launch their brand. The starting point for the new aesthetic was chosen masculine tailoring and deconstruction.
Monse is all about women's clothing (dresses, waist-high blazers, layered skirts, and more), but some pieces (sloppy voluminous sweaters, shorts, roomy pants) are cut to fit guys, too. Kim and Garcia create simple but noticeable pieces that are easy to shuffle between. Their basic principle is that the look should look casual as if put together in 5 minutes, and it doesn't matter if it's daytime or evening.
