The SS 2025 shows made us dream of a revival of boho and asymmetry. However, the catwalk marathon inspired style and outlined possible next steps for the industry.

Changing creative directors continue to dominate industry discussions, and the game of designer placements is sure to continue into 2025.

Givenchy chose Sarah Burton; Alessandro Michele joined Valentino; Haider Ackermann replaced Peter Hawkings at Tom Ford; Peter Copping took the reins at Lanvin; Michael Rider replaced Hedi Slimane at Celine; David Koma now heads Blumarine, and Alberta Ferretti hired Lorenzo Serafini. But there are plenty of vacancies (and rumored impending layoffs) that the industry is curiously awaiting: Chanel has yet to name a replacement for Virginie Viard; Dries Van Noten has not named who will take the former founder's place. There is also Y/Project, where Glenn Martens has resigned; Jean Paul Gaultier, from which Florence Tetier has left; and, most recently, Fendi, from which Kim Jones has gone.
