RIP - Roberto Cavalli

Designer Roberto Cavalli passed away at the age of 83 in Florence. He came from a family of artists: his grandfather Giuseppe Rossi was a well-known figure of the Macchiaioli movement, whose works were exhibited at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. After studying at the Florence Art Institute, Cavalli applied his artistic vision to his fashion designs. 1970, he founded his brand and presented his first collection at the Salon du Prêt-à-Porter in Paris. In the early 1970s, he developed an innovative leather printing process and opened his first Limbo store in Saint-Tropez. His success led to an invitation to show his wares at Sala Bianca in Florence alongside other famous brands such as Missoni, Krizia, Fendi, and Basile. He ran his fashion house until 2015, and throughout this time of leadership, he was involved in creating the collections.
